What you bring, and how a game starts

What you need to bring, the one deckbuilding rule, and the single decision you make before your first turn.

    Remember

A deck is five piles, not one: a Champion Legend, a Chosen Champion, a main deck of 40 or more (up to 3 of any one name), exactly 12 runes, and 3 battlefields with no repeated names. Your Legend’s domains are your domain identity and every card has to fit inside them — a two-domain card needs both covered. To start: battlefields out between you, both decks shuffled, draw 4, and each player may set aside up to 2 and draw that many, with the set-aside cards going to the bottom. Whoever goes second channels one extra rune on their first Channel phase.
